Okay, I have to admit it, I’m a Target mom! I love Target, I love Target, and I really love Target.
Target has more space between aisles than Walmart does, and Target doesn’t have a big old McDonalds right at the entrance; when my kids see those golden arches that’s all that they want from the minute we get into Walmart until we leave.
Target has a small food court, and a Starbucks in most where I love, but the little food area doesn’t scream “french fries” at my kids when they see it…they actually never ask for any food whatsoever when we go to Target.
Now Walmart does seem to be a tad less expensive in my city, but I do believe that Walmart is less expensive throughout the country, but I could be mistaken because I really don’t know.
-Here are a few more reasons why I love Target more than Walmart-
-Service-
It’s a tie!
Okay, I do have to start out by saying that both Target and Walmart have very wonderful employees. At each store when I ask for help I feel that I am taken very good care of.
So yes, Target employees are wonderful and Walmart employees are also wonderful!
-Quality-
Point goes to Target!
Want something that’s cheaply made, will last a year and cheap – but is trendy, with strong colors and flair? Go to Target.
Want something that’s cheaply made, will last a month and cheap – with weak colors then go to Walmart.
-Lighting-
Point goes to Target!
Target seems as is they use different light bulbs than Walmarts use. It could just be my eyes, but Targets seems to be brighter and Walmarts slightly dimmer.
-Layout-
Point goes to Target!
There is no question that the arrangement of goods at Target is much more pleasing to the eye than at Walmart. None at all. The lighting is better, the goods are arranged in fetching displays. The aisles gleam, the wares call your name in soft, glimmering tones.
-Check-out Lanes-
Point goes to Target!
Target staff just seems to really get customers checked out extremely fast.
-Clothes-
Point goes to Target!
Target has fun clothes. They’ve got ASL shirts, “Kind is Cool” and their clearance racks always have good stuff.
-Food-
Point goes to Target!
I already explained above.
-Prices-
Point goes to Walmart!
As I mentioned above, Walmart does seem to be less expensive than Target, maybe not by much, but Walmart does get this point.
-Carts-
Point goes to Target!
Target has switched to plastic carts that are delicious to roll around. Smooth like silk, they glide all over the place.
Walmart, on the other hand, has archaic carts that cling to one another like terrified bits of velcro….and I cab always find at least one or two sad McDonald’s french fries squished somewhere in the cart.
So if I add up my score it looks like Target wins 7 – 1
Please let me know which store you prefer shopping at Target or Walmart, and let me know why. Us moms have got to stick together, so the more information we can share with one another the better!
Thank you for reading!
